Dior Diva & Beauty Haul June 2011

Hello everyone! Work has kept me busy and exhausted. I miss blogging so much already!

June might have came and went, but it didn't go without a heavy damage to my wallet. =)

First off, for the freebies.

If you love Dior and have not signed up as a Dior Diva, shame on you! Dior Diva is Dior's loyalty program that rewards their customers with freebies! You just have to save all the receipts of your Dior purchases from major retailers like Sephora, Macy's, or Lord & Taylor. Then depending how much you spend annually ($100, $250, $500, or $1000), you will be rewarded a different gift set of Dior products. Click here for more details.

For 2010, I bought mostly Dior lip sticks/glosses during Sephora's 20% discount events. I reached the $100 mark and Dior shipped me my package within less than 2 weeks.

Dior Diva Rewards Package
Dior Addict Lipstick in 783 Londres
I love the detail of the signature Dior logo in the packaging. =)  It's silly but I admire companies who brand their shipping material as well. My Dior Diva Rewards package came with a travel size Hypnotic Poison perfume, DIORSHOW mascara, Dior Addict lipstick and a mini Dior shopping bag. Not sure what I'm going to do with the shopping bag but it's cute nevertheless.

Next, I had a little haul from Sephora and got some freebies.
Sephora Haul June 2011
I redeem 500-point perk on my Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards. The Best of Caudalie set came with super deluxe sizes! I calculate it to be about a $65 retail value.
Best of Caudalie - Sephora Beauty Insider 500-point perk
This sample set includes the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, Pulpe Vitaminée Eye and Lip Cream, and the Instant Foaming Cleanser. Sephora sells a similar set called the Beauty Essentials from the Vine.  This perk is sold out on sephora.com already, but do check your local Sephora store if they still have it in stock!

Also received in the mail a postcard from Sephora regarding a free Bare Escentuals sample summer kit. I already use Bare Escentuals, so this was a good travel set to bring with me.
Sephora/Bare Escentuals Sample Set
This set came with the bareMinerals Mineral Veil, foundation, and their new line of Purely Nourishing Moisturizer and baby kabuki brush. Personally, I don't care for the kabuki brush because I think it is a bit rough.

Now for the only paid purchase on the same Sephora visit, haha. I got the Sephora Favorites In the Glow Set.

Sephora Favorites In The Glow Set

This set is a deluxe sample set of all the exfoliating and skincare for bright complexion. I already own the Boscia Black Illuminating Mask and adore it, just thought this will be perfect for travel. The Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster, I also do love from another 500-point perk. I mostly got this kit for the Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate Treatment. Can't wait to try it!

Also bought this Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit. Every year Sephora sells one of these kits to allow you to sample a bunch of skincare/sun care products. All proceeds to these kits are donated to the Skin Care Foundation.

Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit - with the tote
This year's kit comes with a full size Ole Henriksen Fresh Lips that retails for $10 alone! Also comes with a cute Little Miss SPF tote that will be perfect for the beach. You can check out last year's kit here.

Also went to Lord & Taylor to use up the gift card from the special deal I got from RueLaLa ($25 for a $50 L&T gift card). I was looking for a new eye cream and stopped by the philosophy counter for the eye hope eye cream. It retails for $48 and came with this cute gift with purchase.

Lord & Taylor - philosophy haul
The gift with purchase came with samples of their famous purity cleanser and grace shower and shampoo. I wanted to try out their new hope in a tinted moisturizer and the sales representative was nice enough to give me a deluxe sample to try! She matched me with the light to medium one. We'll see how it works out.

That's it for the Beauty Haul, clothing haul and swatches coming up really soon! I'm totally back-logged. >.<

Review: Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate & Eye Concentrate

I finally finished up the Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate and now am in search of a new serum. It wasn't bad, but I don't know if I'll repurchase it.
Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate & Eye Concentrate

I originally bought it back in October as part of a gift set for $88 but retails for $137 (haul post here).
See how little I can pump out from the dispenser??
The clear Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate serum

Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Facts
  • Packaging - Nice sleek glass bottle with pump/drop dispenser so you never have to touch what's inside.
  • Size - 1.7 oz is the biggest size available. Sephora has it available in various sizes.
  • Price - retails for $98 for the 1.7 oz.
  • Specifications - Evens skin tone, brings radiance to skin, boosts gene activity to make your skin look more youthful (from Lancome's website). See a difference within 7 days.
  • Directions - Use daily in the morning and at night
  • Ingredients - Need to add later
Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Review
  • Scent - Lightly fragrance, not obtrusive at all
  • Serum Essence - Clear serum that makes you think it's one of those really high tech products. Very easily spreadable so that I can smooth it all over my face and neck.
  • How I Use It - I normally use it only during the night time because I have another product that I use during the day. I take a few drops and it is enough for me to spread all over my face and neck.
  • Overall Experience - I tried some of their sample packets and loved them. I love how it brightens my skin tone immediately. But for some reason the full size product was disappointing. First off, the pump didn't work. I'm not sure if my bottle was defective, but every time I try to pump the serum out, I would only get 1-2 drops maximum. So in order to get enough product in my palm, I had to repeat it multiple times. After using the concentrate for 3 months, I feel like nothing really happened to my skin. The first few days had a nice effect, but it didn't seem like it lasted. I don't really have that much of a problem with fine lines and wrinkles to speak for its anti-aging aspects.
It was an overall nice experience, I wonder if it's because I didn't use enough? A quick tip, if you can get your hands on their 7 day deluxe sample, there is at least 25% worth of the full size product in there. =) Well worth it if you want to try. I've also started using the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, I'll see how it compares.

As part of the gift set, I also got the Génifique Eye Youth Activating Eye Concentrate. This I definitely would not repurchase.
Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Eye Concentrate
Very lightweight (excuse my dry hands)

Lancôme Génifique Eye Youth Activating Eye Concentrate Facts
  • Packaging - Nice sleek glass bottle with twist cap.
  • Size - 0.5 oz
  • Price - retails for $59
  • Specifications - Also suppose to brighten the eye area in less than 7 days diminishing dark circles and fine lines
  • Directions - Use daily in the morning and at night
  • Ingredients - Need to add later

Lancôme Génifique Eye Youth Activating Eye Concentrate Review
  • Scent - Lightly fragrance also kind of pleasant
  • Cream Essence -This is a very lightweight almost souffle-like cream. It's not heavy on the eyes
  • How I Use It - Because this is so light weight, I only use it during the daytime after my Shiseido White Lucent Eye Treatment to keep my eyes moisturize. Normally just dabbing it with my ring finger and patting it into my eyes.
  • Overall Experience - I don't think this eye cream really does anything for me. If I leave it on my eyes longer without spreading it out, it starts irritating the skin under my eye. At one point my under eyes were red and "rashy". I like that it's very lightweight and provides a bit more moisture than my Shiseido Eye Treatment but I don't see much effect on my crazy dark circles. =(
The eye cream lasted a long longer than the serum, I've used it for almost 6 months! But also only once a day. Coming up next would be my reviews on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair for both face and eye.

Express, Abercrombie, Hollister Haul Apr 2011

Must be all this work stressing me out, I've turned into a MAJOR shopaholic recently. Splurging left and right. It doesn't help when all these stores are having their Spring clearance sales already! Here's some things I picked up from Express, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Hollister.

None of these online stores have free shipping, but they are having a really nice clearance sale right now. Express has an additional 20% off clearance items with code 1244 expires Apr 10, 2011. Mostly picked up work attire. As long as I can return, I'm not 100% spending all this much! Haha =D

Express.com Order
Abercrombie had a really nice sale recently - 30% off your entire purchase! You should "Like" them on Facebook to get the most up to date discounts that they DON'T advertise in their mailing list. I bought a few items last time, but most of them didn't fit me. =(  It seems like their sizing changed also. So I had to put in an exchange order, which wasn't so bad, because their clearance sale was 50% off! Lol... hauled again... They have a nice SpeedExchange service that offers you free shipping if you are planning to return or exchange items with them. Technically you are just placing another order and they are offering you free shipping, doesn't really matter if you do return anything to them. I actually picked out a lot more clothes in the second order, but they were sold out before I could check out! Crazy... >.<

Abercrombie.com 1st order
Abercrombie.com 2nd order (exchange)

I bought different sizes and colors of the Andrea off shoulder top. I thought at first that Medium would be just right for me since I normally wear Medium at A&F, but it turns out to be soooo huge on me. Repurchased in XS. Hopefully it works out. Not sure how much I like the green though, it's like a bright lime green, might be nice change for summer time. We'll see.

Hollister had the exact same promotion (50% off clearance items) as Abercrombie (it's still going on now). So I decided to check it out, only to pick out a bunch of stuff from there as well. Their styles are so similar to Abercrombie but are usually cheaper! Bought a whole bunch of button-down shirts.

Hollisterco.com Order

Beyond the Rack is one of those one day deal sites that offer steep discount on designer clothing and other items. They offer a lot of promotional credit as well. Recently they offered all their members a $25 credit. So I got myself these 2 pieces from a brand I don't know. Their shipping rate is always $9.95 for every order. Here's a ruffle front dress and a cowl neck top with ruffle details on the side. They look cute but it seems like their shipping is taking forever! I bought these on March 25 and they're still not here. Sigh..
Ruffle Front Dress $19.95
Cowl Neck Top $19.95

Well that's it for my clothing haul of the BEGINNING of April.. For some reason, I think they'll be more to come. And this is only my clothing haul, wait till you see my beauty hauls. >.<  I have a problem.
